Brett Cummings
As Founder, CEO, and a member of the board at Left Coast Ventures (LCV), Brett is committed to driving our mission forward to legitimize and define the future of legal cannabis. LCV was acquired in 2019 by the largest SPAC in Canadian history as well as the largest cannabis SPAC. Previously, Brett was a Partner and CFO at 8VC / Formation8 where he was responsible for all financial, operational, fundraising, and legal matters of the firm and funds. During Brett’s 7 years at Formation8 / 8VC, he helped the company raise and manage over $3B in assets under management. Brett spent five years as CFO at CMEA Capital and managed six funds with $1.2 billion in assets under management. Brett started his career in the Audit and Business Advisory Services team at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in New York and San Francisco, primarily focusing on insurance and investment management clients.
Brett received dual degrees in Finance and Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Brett earned his CPA in 2006 and is a member of the AICPA and California CPA Society.
